We are now moving rapidly toward Winter Season 2019. With our Clubs currently setting up their registration packages for players, it is equally important that we have referees for our sport.
With increased player numbers, the demand on referee resources is huge and to cover as many games as possible with match officials, we need you to assist. Come and join our returning referees and become part of the team.
We will be running our Junior Only Course, Senior Only Course and an Open Course from mid-February through to March 2019.
It is a great way to keep fit, earn some extra money and give back to the game.
Match Official payments vary according to the age of the teams officiated. For U12s it is $31 per match and for adult matches it is $63. As an assistant referee (on U13s and up) you get paid 50% of what the centre referee does – accordingly for an adult match it is $32.
To be a referee, you need to be a minimum of 13 years old (ie turning 14 years of age in 2019).
Level 4 Referee courses have been scheduled for the following dates:
Sunday 17 February (open to juniors and seniors) Click here for details and registration.
Saturday 23 February (for 18 years and over) Click here for details and registration.
Sunday 3 March (for 17 years and under only) Click here for details and registration.
Before attending a course, participants must complete the online Laws of the Game module.
The module can be accessed at https://www.playfootball.com.au/referee/laws-of-the-game
The certificate will need to be presented on the day of the course to the Instructor.
Once again, we ask that you consider becoming part of the solution and an important member of our football family. If you require further information, please email our Referees Coordinator firstname.lastname@example.org or browse our website for more details on how to become a referee.
See you on the parks in 2019!
