After a hiatus for two seasons, with our last celebration held on 29th October, 2016, we are bringing back the Louise Mazzaroli O30s Womens Cup.
Saturday 2nd February will see 12 teams of ESFA women, current, previous and future, head on down to Heffron Synthetic for a 6 aside tournament to crown the 2019 Louise Mazzaroli Cup winners.
This day is not about just about winning. It is a chance to promote O30s Womens football in the ESFA. With the hope of providing an O35s Women’s League in 2019, what better way to not only celebrate the Womens Game in the name of a kind and generous ESFA life member whose sole aim at ESFA was to continue the game through all ages with fun and appropriate age leagues.
With teams from Queens Park, Pagewood, Lokomotiv Cove, Maroubra, Dunbar, Coogee, Randwick City and Waverley all raising funds for charity, breast cancer awareness all in the promotion of women’s football, it's set to be a great day.
Louise is a life member of ESFA and was known for her investment in Womens football, having played for clubs within ESFA including Queens Park and Maroubra United with managing Maroubra United AAW4 in her final season. Louise was also an active member of the ESFA Referees Branch where her mentoring of young referees was highly regarded.
Louise heroically and bravely passed away from cancer in November 2011 at the age of 62 and the women of the ESFA football family miss her and her passion.
We would wish to remind all women of ESFA, the importance of early cancer screening. 20 minutes could save your life.
Come on down on Saturday 2nd February with 11:30am kick off time and support the Women of ESFA and buy a raffle ticket to win some fabulous prizes. Although, let Women’s O30 football be the true winner.
All proceeds (minus costs) will be donated to Dreams2Live4
