The ESFA Metros were crowned the 2011 Centenary Cup Champions, defeating St George 2 - 0 at Judy Master Park, Balgownie. Report by Football NSW.

Hosted by the historic Balgownie Junior Football Club across four days, it was the talented Eastern Suburbs squad that claimed all the plaudits with a monumental victory.

Eastern Suburbs finished second in Group B after their initial group stage of fixtures before defeating Southern Branch in a nail-biting affair via the penalty shootout 3-2 after the game ended at 0-0.

Every team in the Grade 12 Metropolitan Representative entered this event, and were joined by representative teams from Southern Tablelands, and Northern Tasmania as well as the local Balgownie team who all did their clubs proud.

State coaches and selectors from the High Performance Unit were also on hand in running a critical eye over all players with a view to inclusion in scholarship programs and ultimately the state teams.

The ESFA Metro teams are sponsored by Jazzright Media Productions. For more information about our Metros you can visit our ESFA Metropolitan League page.

a better effort could of being made to represent the boys after all the team spirit and sportsmanship they displayed in Balgownie and since being the first ESFA team to win the trophie. What about all the other boys "OOPs" we forgot them.

The photo is not of the Present Under 12,s ESFA Reps squad that won the Centenary cup in Balgownie on 15th April 2011. This is a photo of last years Under 11,s squad which doesn't include the new players in the team. A better effort could have been made to represent the present successful winning team.
